Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, Belarusian lexicographer and journalist (d. 1922)
Eliezer Ben‑Yehuda (Hebrew: אֱלִיעֶזֶר בֵּן־יְהוּדָה‬; pronounced [ʔeliˈʕezer ben jehuˈda]; born Eliezer Yitzhak Perlman, 7 January 1858 – 16 December 1922) was the lexicographer of the first Hebrew dictionary, and the editor of HaZvi, one of the first newspapers in the Land of Israel / Palestine. He was the driving force behind the revival of the Hebrew language.
